I apologize for not posting daily for the passed week or so. We had family visiting from out-of-state and were quite busy. But this week everything is back to normal.
Right now I'm working on a series about ways to cut costs. There are obvious ways (eat out less, buy off-brands, etc) but I am going to try to show you ways that you may not have even considered. With the housework I have to catch up on, and the everyday challenges of parenting a 2 year old, I don't have much time to sit and write, but you should expect to see the first installment in my series this week.
Now onto my post for today. I belong to a mentoring class at my church on Sunday mornings. Every week someone comes into the class and teaches on a certain subject. This week it was finances, which had me just about jumping up and down. (Seriously, I love the subject, which is funny since I have always hated math with a passion.) Most of the information she gave us was old news to me, but she did provide a resource that I thought you all would appreciate. It's free budget software that is very beginner-friendly. I downloaded it and played around with it today, and so far I like it. Check it out at http://softperfection.com/downloads.php and let me know how you like it. I still prefer my excel spreadsheet method but I am going to use the free software for a bit to see how well it works.
